Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)

Skilled Workers

Professionals or managers who have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Saskatchewan employer. There are three sub-categories: Skilled Workers/Professionals, Critical Occupations and Existing Work Permit. The applicant may qualify if:

• The applicant live outside Canada or have proof of legal status in Canada, are not a refugee claimant, and have one of the following:
  

  ---

  • An offer of permanent, full-time employment in Saskatchewan either in an occupation or trade in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) Matrix level “A” or “B”, or in a designated trade in Saskatchewan (Skilled Workers/Professionals Sub-Category);
    

    ---

  • An offer of permanent, full-time employment in Saskatchewan in a management position in the NOC Matrix level “0” (Critical Occupations Sub-Category); or
    

    ---

  • Have worked in Saskatchewan for at least six (6) months on a temporary Work Permit either in an occupation or trade that is in the NOC Matrix level “A” or “B”, or in a designated trade in Saskatchewan (Existing Work Permit Sub-Category).

Family Members

The applicant must have a “supporting family member” who has been living in Saskatchewan for at least one year and willing to assist the applicant during the immigration process and after the applicant arrive here. (Note: Spouses or common-law partners are not eligible to apply under this category. They need to apply under the Citizenship and Immigration (CIC) Family Class.)

Eligibility

The applicant must:

• Be between 18 and 49-years-old.
  

  ---

• Have a signed affidavit of support from one or more family members living in Saskatchewan.
  

  ---

• Have completed post-secondary education, training, or apprenticeship of at least one (1) year and hold a diploma, certificate, or degree.
  

  ---

• Have at least one (1) year of work experience in the applicant’s field of education or training.
  

  ---

• Have the English language ability either to do the job the applicant has been offered by a Saskatchewan employer or get a job in the applicant’s field of education or training.
  

  ---

• Have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Saskatchewan employer. (Live-in caregivers cannot apply under this category.) or intend to find full-time, permanent work in Saskatchewan and have enough money to live in the province for a short time without work after arrival ($10,000 for the applicant and $2,000 for each accompanying family member).

Farm Owners / Operators

Criteria:

• The applicant must provide financial documents showing a net worth of $500,000;
  

  ---

• Refundable Cash Deposit : the applicant must sign a Performance Agreement committing to purchasing a farm operation in Saskatchewan and make a “good faith” deposit of C$75,000 in trust.
  

  ---

• The applicant conduct a comprehensive exploratory visit to Saskatchewan of at least five (5) working days that includes an interview with an SINP representative; and
  

  ---

• Farm operation knowledge and experience: provide documentation and may be interviewed in Saskatchewan.
  

  ---

Note: The farm owner/operator category is restricted to proprietary businesses that include primary agricultural production. Agri-business operations may qualify under the Entrepreneur category.

Health Professions

Hospitality Sector Project

SINP can nominate foreign workers currently working in Saskatchewan in one of the following categories: Food/Beverage Server; Food Counter Attendant/Kitchen Helper; or Housekeeping/Cleaning Staff for a minimum of six (6) months on a temporary work permit. These workers must first begin working in the province for an approved Saskatchewan company on a temporary foreign Work Permit. If an approved business offers the applicant permanent employment, after a minimum of six (6) months employment, the applicant may apply to the SINP for permanent resident status.

Long-Haul Truck Drivers

Allows Saskatchewan trucking firms to bring workers to the province for occupations requiring a high school diploma or on-the-job training under Service Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker policy. Such drivers must begin working here for an approved trucking firm on a temporary foreign Work Permit. If an approved trucking firm offers the applicant permanent employment after at least six (6) months employment they may apply to the SINP for permanent resident status.

Students

For those who have graduated from a recognized, post-secondary educational institution in Canada and worked for at least six (6) months for a Saskatchewan employer under a CIC post-graduation Work Permit in any field to apply for landed immigrant status under the SINP.

The applicant qualify if they have:

• graduated with a certificate, a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary educational institution in Canada. The program must have been at least one academic year (eight months) of full-time study;

• worked for a Saskatchewan employer for a minimum of six (6) months under a Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) post-graduation Work Permit;
  

  ---

• a current, permanent, full-time job offer from the applicant’s employer.
